Grand Prairie, Texas is set to welcome a major new attraction as Ripley’s Believe It or Not! partners with Hawaiian Falls to create a $50 million water park, opening summer 2026.
Located on former cowboy country, the park transforms the landscape into a tropical oasis with palm trees, twisting slides, and surf simulators offering families a taste of island adventure without leaving North Texas.
The project brings hundreds of seasonal jobs and is expected to boost local tourism, drawing crowds much like other Texas favorites such as Schlitterbahn and Typhoon Texas.
Edward Meyer, a top Ripley’s executive, calls the effort a chance to deliver “exotic adventure” for families.
Still, some residents and cultural critics raise concerns about cultural appropriation, questioning whether the Hawaiian theme honors or diminishes its roots.
Regardless, anticipation is high as locals prepare to dive into a unique blend of Texan hospitality and tropical flair.
