Bank of Texas Gifts $20,000 to Fuel Kids’ Meals’ Fight Against Child Hunger |
Significant donation aims to bolster meal deliveries for food-insecure children in San Antonio |
Bank of Texas has made a substantial contribution to combat child hunger in San Antonio by donating $20,000 to Kids’ Meals, a nonprofit dedicated to delivering nutritious meals to food-insecure children.
This generous donation will directly support the delivery of healthy breakfasts and lunches to children in need throughout the upcoming school year.
In addition to the financial support, Bank of Texas employees have actively participated in volunteer activities alongside Kids’ Meals staff.
They have assisted in sorting fresh produce and assembling meal packs destined for local neighborhoods, demonstrating a hands-on commitment to the community.
The bank also implemented a matching gift program, encouraging employees to fundraise internally.
Every dollar donated by employees was matched by the bank, effectively doubling the impact of personal contributions.
According to recent reports, the donation from Bank of Texas will provide more than 10,000 nutritious meals to children who might otherwise miss essential meals.
With poverty rates rising in certain districts, partnerships like this are crucial for sustaining daily meal delivery services, ensuring families receive food even during school breaks and holidays.
Bank of Texas executives emphasized the alignment of missions between the bank and Kids’ Meals, both aiming to foster a stronger future by addressing immediate needs.
Looking ahead, the bank plans to host additional volunteer events and fundraising drives, inviting customers and community groups to join in packing meals and raising awareness about childhood hunger in the region.
In related efforts, the San Antonio Food Bank has launched its inaugural Restaurant Weeks, running through June 21, to support summer meal programs for children amid high food prices and limited federal assistance in Texas.
Participating local restaurants are offering special menu items featuring produce from the food bank’s urban farms, with $1 from each item sold donated to support the Summer Meals for Kids program.
These collaborative initiatives highlight the community's commitment to ensuring that no child goes hungry, especially during challenging times. |
