University of Texas student-athletes excel in both athletics and academics |
The University of Texas track and field and cross-country programs have achieved a significant academic milestone, with 25 student-athletes earning spots on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for 2025.
To qualify for this honor, teams must maintain a collective GPA of at least 3.0. The men's team posted a 3.31 GPA, while the women's team achieved a program-high 3.49.
On the men's side, 11 athletes received recognition, including sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers, and distance runners.
Notable honorees such as Sam Abati, Xavier Butler, and Nabil Tezkratt exemplified the program's commitment to excellence both on the track and in the classroom.
The women's team boasted 14 honorees, spanning throwers, runners, and multi-event competitors.
Top academic performers like Mackenzie Collins, Eva Jess, and Nina Ndubuisi demonstrated that elite training and strong grades can go hand in hand.
Coaches and academic support staff highlighted the group's dedication to time management, study halls, and peer tutoring programs, all of which contributed to this achievement.
Athletes credited campus resources, from quiet study lounges to one-on-one advising, for enabling them to excel during a season filled with meets, travel, and championships.
With 25 All-Academic selections, Texas reinforces its reputation as a leader among NCAA track and field programs in fostering student-athlete success both athletically and academically. |
